The plan includes construction of public convenience complexes and cement-concrete work in internal lanes inside JJ settlements. According to officials, administrative approval was granted for hundreds of works under these categories, and a significant portion has already been contracted out. The announcement was made during a Republic Day programme where representatives from JJ clusters attended and raised issues linked to living conditions and infrastructure gaps.
Officials cite sanitation, lanes and community facilities as priorities
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the government’s focus is on improving access to basic infrastructure such as sanitation, internal roads, drains and community facilities in informal settlements. The event was held at the Chief Minister Jan Seva Sadan, where the Chief Minister interacted with residents’ representatives and discussed neighbourhood-level needs and execution challenges.
